Yesterday, 20 March 2016, our namesake celebrated his 2059th birthday. We therefore raised the glass to Publius Ovidius Naso and to Ovidius Law.

The name of our firm not only pays homage to this famous Roman poet, but also refers to a part of his life that is less well-known. Few people are aware that Ovidius was a practitioner of the law before he decided to fully devote his life to poetry.

For that reason, we consider ourselves to be a small part of Ovidius’ legacy. And what better day to reflect on all aspects of that legacy, than on the anniversary of his birth. In honour of both the lawyer and poet in Ovidius, the firm’s parters each chose a quote from his extensive body of work that we, as attorneys, still take to heart.
